Donuts Registry Announces Sunrise Date for 7 gTLDs

Donuts, a registry that applied for more than 300 gTLDs during the first round of ICANN’s New gTLD Program, announced yesterday that Sunrise registration for trademark holders will commence on November 26, 2013, and end on January 24, 2014, for the following seven (7) New gTLDs:

.BIKE

.CLOTHING

.GURU

.HOLDINGS

.PLUMBING

.SINGLES

.VENTURES

Donuts further announced that they expect to launch additional New gTLDs in weekly batches from this point forward. You can view their full press release here.

CSC Digital Brand Services wishes to remind brand owners that only those who have their trademarks pre-validated by the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) will be able to register corresponding domain names to protect their brands during New gTLD Sunrise periods. It can take 21 days or more for a trademark to be pre-validated by the TMCH and processing times are expected to grow over the next few weeks due to increased volume. Those interested in registering key brands during Sunrise periods should contact CSC Digital Brand Services immediately to ensure priority processing of their trademarks with the TMCH.

CSC Digital Brand Services would also like to emphasize that those planning on taking advantage of Donuts’ Domains Protected Marks List (DPML) to “block” registrations of key trademarks across all New gTLDs launched by Donuts must pre-validate their trademarks with the TMCH to be eligible to participate in DPML. For more details about DPML blocks, please see our blog post here. To order a DPML block, please contact your CSC Client Service Specialist or Account Manager for assistance.
