The fourth phase of the push towards Arabic-language domain names will open on November 13th.
According to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), it will be the last phase of registration for the .emarat domain.
“We hope that this phase will be a starting point for a new era in the internet world. In this regard, the TRA is very keen to meet the requests of all companies and entities willing to join this service. Our aim is to serve all customers adhering to best practices and methods,” commented the body’s director general Mohammad Nasser Al Ganem.
He add that the push is very important as it marks a turning point in the usage of the Arabic language.
“This, of course, will grant us the opportunity to empower our leading position in the region and the whole world,” Mr. Al Ganem added.
Last week, the Qatar Domains Registry made Qatar-specific Arabic internet domain name, .Qatar, available to the public.
