The .news gTLD will be offered through General Availability in just six days. Media and content organizations should move fast to secure their brands.
Launched by Rightside Registry, .news is a potentially interesting opportunity for news, media, and content organizations that have been pushed to online publication in recent years. It’s also an ideal way for corporations to promote their latest updates and announcements.
Dot news creates a news-focused space online and is, of course, a word that’s widely understood worldwide.
Any of the following individuals or organizations should take an urgent look at .news, because General Availability starts on July 8, with an Early Access Program running for the first week:
- News organizations
- Professional journalists
- Corporations, especially those that are publicly quoted
- Organizations with information to share
- Bloggers
Right now, we’re still in the Sunrise phase, which means you can apply for a matching .news domain if you have a valid TMCH filing. If there are multiple applications for the same name, there will be an auction for the domain in question.
In General Availability, any interested registrant can apply. The Early Access Program has additional fees for priority registration.
