The status of the new generic top-level domain program is to be discussed at the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
Taking place between November 6th and 9th in Baku, Azerbaijan, the IGF will also look at how the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ICANN is trying to improve its international awareness.
Chief executive officer at ICANN Fadi Chehade said the meeting will be a “fantastic opportunity to talk further with the broad internet community about our global stakeholder engagement initiatives”.
He added the scheme is also going to make it easy for the group to work with key organizations in the internet ecosystem.
Other topics up for discussion are how to successfully deploy Domain Name System Security Extensions and country code top-level domain operators.
Dr Stephen Crocker, chair of the ICANN board, noted the body is looking forward to taking part in the IGF for the seventh year in a row.
