Dominican Republic (.DO)
In December 2009, the Dominican Republic began allowing those who already held a 3rd level .DO registration to request an exactly matching 2nd level .DO registration through a Grandfather process. The Grandfather process for 2nd level .DO registrations will conclude on June 10th. CSC clients are reminded to submit any remaining Grandfather Registration requests by 2pm EDT on June 9th. Once the Grandfather process is closed, available 2nd level names that exactly match existing 3rd level registrations will be available for registration by the general public.
Estonia (.EE)
Management of the ccTLD for Estonia, .EE, is undergoing a transition to a new registry operator. As a result, new domain name regulations are set to go into effect on July 5, 2010 which will now make registration of names in the .EE ccTLD more accessible. Specifically, private individuals and foreigners will now be able to register .EE domains and one person/entity can also now hold multiple .EE domains.
For more information about .EE, please contact your CSC Customer Service Specialist for assistance.
Upcoming 1, 2 and 3 character Domain Registration Opportunities
After the high-degree of interest shown in the release of 1 and 2 character domain names by Germany (.DE) late last year, the following TLDs have announced their intentions to release previously unavailable 1, 2 and 3 character domain names – United Kingdom (.UK), United States (.US) and .INFO. CSC is closely monitoring the launch plans being developed by each registry and will continue to keep clients apprised of these opportunities and the specific launch timeline of each.
