The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will stage its 2012 National Trademark Expo on October 19 and 20.
The annual event will take place at USPTO’s headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, and will be free for the public to attend.
USPTO organizes the event to educate the public about the value of intellectual property on the global marketplace.
It is designed to highlight the importance of trademarks through educational seminars, children’s workshops, exhibits, displays of authentic and counterfeit goods, and costumed characters featuring registered trademarks.
Attendees will be able to visit numerous exhibitors from the U.S. government, nonprofits, and corporations, each providing valuable information about trademarks.
Among the new exhibitors for 2012 will be the American Red Cross, NASCAR, and Rutgers University.
Returning participants include the Girl Scouts of America, Mattel, and the U.S. Department of the Army, all of whom will have their own stands at the expo.
