SPOTLIGHT
Identity Digital
Identity Digital has announced they will be releasing a number of their premium domains 12-Jun-2024. The bulk of this release is made up of valuable short (1, 2 & 3 character) domain names and generic terms across various Identity Digital TLDs. Most notably, the registry are releasing short character premium domains on .INFO, for the first time. On release, these premiums domains will be subject to claims for 90 days, in accordance with ICANN Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) requirements, as these domains were not made previously available during Sunrise. Registrars will need to pass the claims notice to Registrants and the Claims ID to the Registry. EAP pricing schedule will apply. Please reach out to your Client Service Partner if you have interest in reviewing the list domains against your brands and securing any of the domains.
.AD Liberalization
The Andorra Telecom registry has announced that they are launching a liberalization program to release restrictions on .AD domains. Registrants who are not Andorran Public Institutions or Trademarks/Trade name holders will now be able to register .AD domains.
This program will be launched in 4 phases:
- Sunrise Phase (22-May-2024 to 16-Oct-2024): Only open to Andorra Public Institutions and Trademarks/Trade name holders registered before 22-May-24.
- Limited Availability (22-May-2024 to 16-Oct-2024): Open to registrants having some prior rights to register names matching those rights.
Rights in priority order:
1. Corporate names for Andorran legal entities
2. Foreign Trademarks registered before 22-May-2024
3. Names of individuals being citizens or residents in Andorra
4. Names matching domain names in other TLDs registered before 22-May-2024.
- Landrush Phase (05-Sept-2024 to 16-Oct-2024): Registration opens to all interested registrants with no prior right.
- General Availability (22-Oct-2024): Open to all interested registrants on a first-come, first-served basis.
.TR Launch Information
Please note that the Turkish Registry, TRABİS, has extended the current top level .TR launch phase to August 7th 2024. The extension is launching in three categories Grandfathering phase followed by General Availability.
- Category 1: Grandfather rights to owners of equivalent gov.tr, edu.tr, tsk.tr, bel.tr, pol.tr, k12.tr domain names.
Launch date: 14th September 2023. - Category 2: Grandfather rights to owners of equivalent org.tr. Applications will be documents based.
Launch date: 14th November 2023. - Category 3: Grandfather rights to owners of equivalent of “kep.tr”, “av.tr”, “dr.tr”, “com.tr”, “org.tr”, “net.tr”, “gen.tr”, “web.tr”, “name.tr”, “info.tr”, “biz.tr”, “tv.tr”, “bbs.tr”, “tel.tr”, registered prior to 25th August 2023.
Launch date: 14th February 2024. – Extended till August 7, 2024 - General Availability: First Come, First Served.

Global Block
Global Block is a new system for brand owners to block registrations across a set number of domain extensions. This new product is now offered by the Brand Safety Alliance, a GoDaddy company, in partnership with TLD registries and backend operators. The block currently covers over 550+ extensions, including new gTLDs, ccTLDs and web3 extensions. You can register a GlobalBlock or GlobalBlock+ service for a term of either 1, 2 or 3 years. For existing DPML Block holders the registry offers an additional Bridge Service that will cover extensions that are not part of the DPML block only.
